These Terms & Conditions govern the use of justkarate.co.uk and the services provided by Pure Indigo Limited (trading as Just Karate). By enrolling a student or purchasing from our shop, you agree to these terms.
1. Membership & Payments
- Annual Membership Fee: An annual membership fee is payable upon joining and is renewed every 12 months. This fee is strictly non-refundable. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for any unused portion of the annual membership should a student choose to leave mid-year.
- 15-Week Training Blocks: Training is provided in blocks of 15 weeks. Payment for the full block must be made in advance via our website/Stripe to secure a student’s place.
- Non-Automatic Renewal: We do not currently use automatic recurring billing. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to purchase the next 15-week block before the current one expires to maintain their place.
- No-Refund Policy: We do not offer refunds or pro-rata credits for 15-week blocks once payment has been made. This applies regardless of student attendance, illness, holidays, or a decision to stop training mid-block.
- Service Guarantee (Cancellations by Us): If a training session is cancelled by Just Karate (e.g., due to instructor illness or venue unavailability), the end date for your current 15-week block will be extended by the number of cancelled lessons.
2. Parental Supervision Requirements
To ensure child safety and allow instructors to focus on training, the following rules apply:
- Ages 5–11: A parent or guardian must remain in the training hall for the duration of the session. They remain responsible for all personal care (e.g., toilet breaks).
- Ages 12–15: Parents may "drop and go" but must remain contactable by phone and must be at the venue 5 minutes before the session ends for collection.
- Ages 16–17: Students may attend and depart independently with prior parental consent.
3. Late Collection Policy
Our instructors' responsibility for the student ends promptly at the class finish time.
- Late Fees: We reserve the right to charge a late collection fee of £10 per 15-minute period (or part thereof) to cover the instructor's additional time.
- Safe Handover: If a parent is late, the student will be escorted to the venue’s main reception area (where available) to wait in a public, staffed environment.
- Statutory Notification: In line with standard school protocols, if a child is not collected and a parent/guardian cannot be reached within a reasonable timeframe, we are required to contact Social Services or the Police.
4. The Online Shop (Returns & Refunds)
- Right to Cancel: You have 14 days from receipt of goods to return items for a full refund.
- Condition: Items (such as Gi/uniforms) must be returned unworn, in original packaging, and in resalable condition.
- Collection: Shop items may be collected at the student's regular training venue or from the Pure Indigo office in Cottenham by prior appointment.
5. Training, Risk & Liability
- Risk: Karate is a contact sport. By enrolling, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risk of minor injury during training.
- Medical: You must disclose any medical conditions or allergies via the student portal/registration form.
- Property: Pure Indigo Limited is not liable for loss or damage to personal property at training venues.
6. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms periodically.
